Finding the right counsellor or psychotherapist can seem a daunting prospect. The quality of the relationship between client and therapist is key to bringing about positive change, and this lies at the heart of my practice. I offer a collaborative and supportive experience - my aim is to help you find your own way forward.
You may come to counselling with a particular issue, a general feeling of unhappiness or a yearning to increase understanding of yourself and your relationships with others. My approach to therapy considers how past influences and experiences may be affecting you now. I also incorporate CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) as a means of exploring links between patterns of thought, feelings, behaviour and physical symptoms.
As self-understanding and self-awareness increase, unhelpful patterns of behaviour can be recognised, wider perspectives gained and different ways of being and relating to others adopted.
